Pinky and the Brain

A while ago I downloaded every Pinky and the Brain episode. If you are not hip to what Pinky and the Brain is, it was a cartoon in the 90's presented by Steven Spielberg. I watched it as a kid, so I decided to get it. After watching a ton of episodes, I realized how influential it must have been to other cartoons I've watched since P&B aired. It's a simple show about two lab mice who try to take over the world every night, and they are never successful, and sometimes they are put into a weird time period as if to teach us some American history or something. I, for some reason, love the show. It's pretty funny to see so many Bill Clinton jokes in one place as well, After the previous eight years, you kind of forget about that man Bill. At any rate the show is worth checking out to get a few 90's gags and some great concepts. Also they did a future thing on the one I watched last night where Bill Clinton was the first American President to have like a billion consecutive terms and they had his head in a jar, making a treaty with Canada. It's pretty funny and reminds me a lot of Futurama, which is one of y favorite cartoons of all time. I'm pretty sure P&B is available pretty much everywhere, get it.

So I thought this would be a great thing to post, since it makes me laugh. This whole bear/man/pig epidemic is kinda ridiculous considering the 1000 who have died of normal, non-news, flu this year. It's kinda ridiculous to shut yourself out from the world. Just practice a hygienic lifestyle, and wash your hands and we will be fine. Don't grab your shotgun and head for a cave, thats pretty silly. Well enjoy... While you still can.

So I've never been a big fan of high-heels; maybe because I'm short,
maybe because I think they generally look ridiculous and serve no
purpose. I now have a reason to loath. These two women were walking
down the steps to the subway in high-heels, very slowly, and being the
nice human I am I waited patiently until I realized my train was
here. I then bolted down the stairs, hitting every fourth one only to
miss my train. How disapointing! Anyways, now I'm 10 minutes later
than I should be. Thanks for listening, I feel much beter now.

So it's almost Christmas, and I've found out that people who wear
santa hats who are not indeed Chris Kringle reallybother me. Also
wearing stupid hats doesn't make you festive, if you are going to wear
a stupid hat wear it because it's a stupid hat, not Christmas eve. Try
July 15th or August 26th.

The kinds thing that makes you smile

So I will paint you the picture. I was on the "El"; above ground. I'm
listening to "Yes" on my iPhone and stareing blankly out the window.
We make a stop, people get off, new people get on. We start to go.
There is a turn in the tracks which reveals the alley below at a slow
pace. Having seen this numerous times before I was expecting the same
old truck that sets in that alley, but boy was I in for a surprise. As
it was revealed my face lit up with joy and I looked to see if anyone
else saw it. Of course what I just witnessed were two full grown
golden retrievers, very shaggy, very shaggin. Yep, on on top of the
other humping like there was no tomorrow. I then realized I was the
only one in my car who saw it, I needed to tell someone, so I'm
telling you.

I hope you experience this someday.

So I was talking with my friend yesterday when I came up with this
great idea. Of course it is just my view of utopia, but hey we all
dream. Here it is. There should be musicians on every block. Far
enough where they won't interup each other, but close enough so we can
all pull out our ear buds long enough to meet someone.

So I've decided to also use this blog to rant. Don't worry I will name
them acordingly so you can skip them if you wish.

So, IE. As many of you know this is Microsoft's attempt at a Internet
browser. First off, if you are reading this blog in Internet explorer,
stop right now, google "firefox", download it, and set it as your
default. This is important because we have to show Microsoft that we
are not happy with IE.

Here is the deal, most of the world today is running windows based
platform, this has the default browser of IE. This is fine and dandy,
but here is where it hurts. There is this group, the W3C (google it)
and they are trying to set standards on the Internet as far as coding
language. This is important If you want your website
To be viewed the same by everyone. IE decided to be stuborn and make
not adhere to a lot of these guidelines, where as most other browsers
did.

So what this means.
If you are coding a website, you have to do twice as much work that is
mostly hacks and improper coding in order for IE to look or work at
all. This is frustrating for a designer with little time to make
everything work and look great. Most of the other browsers are easy to
get your design to work in a real designer kind of way.

What we can do.
Ok, so now we know that stuborn Microsoft doesn't want it's users to
experience the Internet how designers presented it. So we need to
boycot IE. If we stop using it, hopfully they will make it better, or
die.

Ok. That's it. So download a different bowser and tell all your
friends to as well.
